Latest News from Tannadice.

Dundee United are hoping to use TV evidence to wipe out Jim Lauchlan's red card against Motherwell. The stopper believes Under-21 team-mate Lee McCulloch made a meal of their clash. United are sending a tape of the incident to Park Gardens aiming to get him off the hook. A rule change means clubs can appeal against a red card for violent conduct within seven days. Stenhousemuir's Steve Pittman had a dismissal cancelled earlier this term.

Lauchlan said: "Lee went down too easily and made a lot of noise. That hardly helped me. "I spoke to him after the game and said "Are you having a laugh?' "But he insisted I'd connected with him. That really disappoints me." A United spokesman said: "The club are looking seriously at an appeal. We know how strongly the player feels about what happened." ©The Glory Years
