David
Hannah looks set to miss the visit of Hearts to Tannadice on Saturday.
The Tangerines’ midfielder is still feeling the affects of
a groin strain picked up in the 5-3 loss to Aberdeen 10 days ago
and has also been suffering from the viral infection which has
affected several of his teammates. He played no part in training
yesterday and is to see a physiotherapist later this week for
intensive treatment.
"David is
a big worry for us," admitted United assistant manager John Blackley,
who also has Stephen McConalogue, Joachim Fernandez and Kevin
McDonald toiling because of the bug. "We will give him every chance
but I would have to say that at the moment he is very doubtful
for the Hearts match."
United
were yesterday able to welcome Steven Fallon back to training.
The former Scotland youth internationalist has a claim to be one
of the unluckiest players around, having had two separate shin
fractures and a bout of glandular fever to contend with over the
last two years. "We are all delighted to have Steven involved
again," said Blackley. "He is a nice lad who more than deserves
a change of fortune. He is also a good player who I am sure will
be in contention for a first team game once he gets his fitness
up to 100%." ©The
