The SFA
will investigate the Jim McLean affair - but not until they hear
the views of the former Dundee United chairman for themselves.
The SFA's General Purposes Committee were brought up to date
at their meeting in Glasgow with the incident involving McLean
and BBC reporter John Barnes. And SFA official Andy Mitchell later
confirmed: 'We will be writing to Mr McLean asking for his views.
These will be further considered by the committee at their next
meeting on December 12.'
However, as
McLean has since resigned from Dundee United and said that his
shares in the club are up for sale, the SFA do not need to move
fast. And the fact that there is a court case pending also means
that the committee are likely to await the outcome of that issue.
Only last week, the Scottish Premier League also considered the
incident and they decided to await further developments before
taking any action. ©Soccernet
