Argyle have appointed former United manager Paul Sturrock as their
new manager. Sturrock, 44, who resigned as manager of United
earlier this season, was welcomed to Home Park on Tuesday morning
by the Third Division club's chairman Dan McCauley. He replaces
Kevin Hodges, who was sacked by Plymouth a month ago. Sturrock,
who has also managed St Johnstone, said: "I realise Plymouth are
not in a very good position at the moment. "But I arrive here
with a blank sheet.
Everyone on
the playing staff will be given a chance. We hope to build on
that." McCauley said: "He was a unanimous choice by the board.
He will bring long-term stability to the club and we were impressed
by the fact that he wanted to develop the youth policy of the
club, which he did so well at St Johnstone." ©BBC
