Following a very impressive closed-door trial Stephen Wright signed for United on 22nd August to become Alex Smith's first signing for the Club and renew his contact with his old Aberdeen boss.

Stephen had been plagued by injury in his last season at Bradford. But the former Rangers and Aberdeen defender had been an inportant part of the Bantams promotion winning season the year before.

A very sure footed and accomplished defender Stephen has quickly become a fans favourite with his displays this season. His best position seems to be as sweeper where his reading of the game is excellent.

A candidate to take over the captaincy once Jason DeVos leaves the club, Stephen can hopefully look forward to a productive spell in the Tangerine and Black of United.
